(Tonkee and me before we separated ways. Feb 17, 2012, 4 weeks after admission)
Today, my dear patient Dwight aka Tonkee goes home to his family after 4 weeks in the hospital, 2 weeks of which he was under my care while intubated in Ward 9 of PGH. I’m so glad he finally can come home, and yet, I am worried that in their current financial state, they might not be able to sustain proper follow-up care.
To Tonkee and his family: I have a lot to thank you for… You’ve made me realize that even as a doctor, I am still capable to feeling compassion and love, and that I am capable of caring and giving so much. Thank you for helping me believe more in myself. We might never cross paths again, but I will always treasure the four weeks I’ve looked after you. I will miss you, and I am still praying I will get to see you someday, all well and able. :)

My sister who is waaay cooler than me (she DJs, knows all the hottest places, can party up a storm, yada yada yada) is finding all means to get in my sorority’s party later tonight. Apparently this New Boyz group is cooler/hotter than I assumed. Of course, she would know.
Excited for tonight.
Because this is exactly how I feel. My sister works in an advertising agency and has won at least one arts-related national award; has at least four tatts, and sidelines as a tattoo artist; knows all the cool places, and yeah, yada yada yada.
Excited for tonight, too. Fly girls need a break from the hospital
My sister wears socks with her sandals.
My sisters are: 1) a law student, 2) a nursing student, 3) a dentistry student. equally cool, methinks. :)

Tonkee, my ward patient, needs your help. He needs blood donors because his platelet count is low. Please do not hesitate to PM me if you are willing to help. Thank you in behalf of the cute patient.
This is one kiddo I learned to love so much. Dwight aka Tonkee is one of my Pedia patients in Ward 9. I try to visit as much as I can. His case is still a diagnostic dilemma, so I try to keep updated.

Sometimes we want something so bad, we practically write the script on how it should go, even if we know better. There’s no such thing as the perfect family or the perfect turkey or the perfect gravy. There are always lumps. But why do lumps have to be bad? Maybe instead of trying so hard to create the ideal holiday we should embrace the not-so-perfect ‘cause sometimes it’s the imperfections that make the holiday memories that you really cherish.

Being in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship is plain crazy. You gotta let your heart lead the way. I’m okay with being single, until the day I find someone really special.

There were days, when our woven fingers would sway, now your hands only push mine away. I won’t keep you… go slip away. There were ways; I would try to find one every day, but you couldn’t hear what I had to say. I won’t keep you… go slip away. That’s what you really want, to fade into the grain of my mind. You’re racing towards the finish line. I won’t keep you…
